Realist Paintings

“Hold to the now, the here, through which all future plunges to the past.”
-James Joyce via Bloom, Ulysses p. 153 of the standard text.

Coming out of the sixties, with pop art and abstraction dominating contemporary art, Schonzeit found that the camera was his way to bring the world into the studio. This combined with a projector and an airbrush showed him the way to realize his vision, allowing for flexibility of focus to create his paintings. Throughout his work, color and space are prevalent themes. Stories are told as well, as Schonzeit explores the many facets of life.
